Lexi’s Life at School

Sometimes in the morning, I walk to school. Most of the time, I get a ride. When I get a ride in the car, it’s as warm as a volcano. I walk, put my backpack down, and see my friends. Then I wait for my best friend. While I wait for my best friend, I talk with other people. I wait a couple minutes for my friend to come.
When I’m inside my class, we do work in the morning. Sometimes my teacher says good morning. But in the morning, doing work, I’m really hungry. I try my best not to think of the yummy food we are about to eat. Now, in the morning we also have specials. On Mon. we get gym. On Tues. we get music and computer lab. On Wed. we get gym, and art. On Thurs. we get library. One more day, and one more special is on Fri. we get music and gym.
When we do our work, I never give up on anything. I try my best and do as hard as I can. Usually we do D.O.L. in the morning. We have to correct stuff. Mrs. Hanlon would ask questions. For example, she would ask,
“What do we need to correct in this sentence?”
Then I would say,
“We need a comma.”
That’s just how we do D.O.L. But then we know its lunch. All the fifth graders get to sit any where they want at lunch, on the lunch tables. It’s as awesome as eating lunch in the classroom.
We have lunch recess and 2:00 recess. Those are the recesses when I talk with my friends. That’s the time I have fun. I usually play tag. Then the bell rings, and I know I have to come in and do more work. More work is as tiring as staying up too late.
Then we go in and go to math. In math we usually get homework every day. But sometimes we don’t. After math, we go to social studies. Social studies can be fun because we learn about facts, but two other classes go to science. After social studies, we go to 2:00 recess, where all my friends get to talk with me. It is not a long recess. 2:00 recess is as short as a half day. I think it is about 15 min. long. Lunch recess is I think one hour long. Lunch recess is as long as the whole day. Then when 2:00 recess is over, we have science. It is not that hard if you work, and listen well. We do have homework sometimes, but not all the time.
There is an early bell that has to ring. It does not mean that we have to go. It just means that there is five minutes left to wait, do homework, read a book, and clean up the class room a little. I have a hard day in school. The hardest thing I do in school is crossed between, social studies, and math. But not all the time, sometimes it can be easy. We fill out our assignment notebook when the 5 minute bell rings. That means we have to wait 5 minutes before we can leave school, and go home. Finally we can go home. On the way out, we grab our mail from our mail box. I get my stuff on, and leave.
